Cinnamomum tamala is from the Cinnamomum genus which includes the cinnamon which is commonly used in various cuisines most notably in biriyani in Asia( Indian subcontinents, china).

Antihyperlipidemic Effects:
Aqueous and ethanol extract of Cinnamomum tamala leaf was found to reduce total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL-C, LDL-C and Atherogenic index and increase the l of HDL-V when dosed for 10 days at a rate of 400mg/kg/day.link
Antidiabetic Effects:
Antihypewrglycemc effects were observed when aqueous extract of Cinnamomum tamala leaves was dosed at a rate of 250mg/kg/day, it decreased the level of fasting blood glucose level and urine sugar.link
Antioxidant Effects
Quantification of leave phenol, absorbates and carotenoids of Cinnamom tamala revealed a high level of antioxidants.link
Antifungal Effects:
The leaf oil of Cinnamomum tamala had potent antifungal effects against Aspergillus niger, A.fumigatus, Candida albicans, Rhizopus stolonifer and Penicillium spp.link
Antidiarrhoeal Effects:
